Obituary for Randall M. Smith

Randall M.  Smith
Randall M. Smith, 75 of Waterford, passed away, Monday, November 13, 2017 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Erie. He was born on May 3, 1942 a son of Merritt Smith and E. Mary Crosby Smith. He married Louise H. Shellhouse on September 2, 1961; they were married for 42 years until her passing on December 2, 2009. He subsequently married Patricia Murdock on November 16, 2016.

He was a 1960 graduate of Panama Central School.

Randall was employed with Crotty Chevrolet Buick for 16 years and in 1978 he went to work for Associated Spring Raymond, prior to retiring Randall was transferred to Toledo, Ohio where he worked for 6 years until his retirement in 1997. Upon returning from Toledo, Randall and Louise built a house. He worked at Cornish Lumber Company until his final retirement in 2007 and then was a driver for New Motors and Crotty Chevrolet Buick.

He was a lifetime member of Bear Lake Fire Department where he was an EMT and Ambulance Chief, Fort LeBouef American Legion Post 285, and a volunteer for Droopy Basset Hound Rescue.

Randall enjoyed camping and hunting in his younger days, nascar, working on cars, building houses, spending time with his basset hound (Shadow), but most of all he loved his grandchildren's sporting and musical events always supporting them.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Smith of Waterford; a daughter, Shawn Yeager and her husband Jerry of Bear Lake; a son, Scott Smith of Bear Lake; three grandchildren, Brandin Smith and his wife Lauren of Greensboro, NC, Kyle Yeager and his wife Lia of Warminster, PA, and Heather Yeager of Bear Lake; two sisters, Bonnie Lindquist of Steadman, NY and Manette Shamp and her husband Lester of Bear Lake; two brothers, Lynn Smith and his wife Cindy of Sumter, SC and Larry Smith and his wife Laurene of Lexington, KY; a special step granddaughter, Emily Winters; many nieces and nephews; and several stepchildren and step-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, Louise; he was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Amy Smith; a brother in law, David Lindquist; and a stepson, Brian Steffy.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday, November 15th from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 62 S. Main Street, Union City. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 16th at 11:00am at Union City Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 2 Dowman Street, Union City with Pastor Tom Hunsberger, officiating.

Burial will take place at Bear Lake Cemetery, Warren County.
