Elizabeth Rose Muddiman (Deitz)
MEADVILLE - Elizabeth (Betty) Rose Deitz Muddiman, 96, of Jefferson Street, Meadville, PA, passed into eternal rest on Monday, December 4, 2017. She had been staying at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community for the past six years.

Betty was born on June 21, 1921, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Ann Dietz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Albert Joseph Muddiman, daughter, Ruth Mary Muddiman, sister Rosemary Walk, and her brother Charles Dietz.

Betty's legacy lives on with her six children, Charles (Carla) Muddiman, Daniel (Karen) Muddiman, John Muddiman, Jeanne Overmyer, Robert Muddiman, and Mary Anne (Marty) Janos. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, several nephews and nieces and their families.

Having lived through the Great Depression and World War II, Betty appreciated the value of contributing to her church, her family and her community. In her long career she worked at Keystone Ordinance Works, making TNT during WW II, Sunbeam, Montgomery Wards and was an accountant for the Kepler Hotel before becoming a real estate agent for the Richmond Real Estate in Meadville, PA where she worked for 23 years. She decided to retire at the age of 75.

Betty loved spending time with her growing family. She was an avid gardener and especially loved her roses and her violets. She was an accomplished seamstress and made beautiful articles using her talents in needlework, crocheting and knitting. She loved to bake and enjoyed canning, fruits, vegetables and jellies.

Betty was a life-long member of St. Agatha's Catholic Church in Meadville, PA. She was a member of the Rosary and Alter Society and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Betty will be sadly missed, but we rejoice in her life, her contributions and her faith in God. The family would like to thank the staff of Wesbury College Way for the wonderful care and love they gave our Mom.
