Obituary for Sue Ellen Marren (Proper)

Sue Ellen  Marren (Proper)
Sue Ellen Proper Marren, 73, of Union City, passed away, Thursday, December 7, 2017 at UPMC Hamot. She was born on October 12, 1944 a daughter of Arden Proper and Dorothy Reynolds Proper. She married Daniel C. Marren on June 24, 1967 he preceded her in death in 1981.

She was a 1962 graduate of Union City High School and following graduation attended Jamestown Business School where she majored in Secretarial. Following graduation from business school she was employed with Trenton Psychiatric Hospital in Trenton, NJ as a medical secretary until 1986 when she went to work at Thomas Edison State College in Trenton until her retirement in 2003.

She was of the baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church of Union City.

Sue (KB3UIP) was an active member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), Union City Wireless Association, Radio Amateurs of Corry, Wattsburg Wireless Association, and the Union City Alumni Committee as part of the homecoming committee.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her family, friends and old classmates.

Sue is survived by a daughter, Cathleen M. Marren of Union City; a son, Daniel J. Marren and his wife Kristin of Florence, Mississippi; two sisters, Carol L. Proper and Mary Jane Adams of Union City; a special friend, Richard Durning of Union City; and several nieces and cousins.

In addition to her husband; she was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, December 14th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 62 S. Main Street, Union City. There will be an additional calling hour at the funeral home on Friday, December 15th from 10:00am to 11:00am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00am with Pastor Robert Weaver of First Baptist Church, officiating.
