Obituary for Agnes M. Ritchey

Agnes Petruso Soff Ritchey, 85, passed away on April 13, 2021 at Wesbury from complications of dementia. Aggie was born in Meadville to Agatha and Dominic Petruso on February 10, 1936. She was in the 1954 graduation class of Meadville High School. After graduating from Allegheny College in 1958 with a bachelor's degree in education, Aggie spent time in Jamestown, NY and taught at Spring Lake, NC. She then returned to Meadville where she taught at Neason Hill and Second District Schools. She subsequently retired from teaching in 1974. She was a member of the Unitarian Church of Meadville.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Ritchey, four sons, William Soff and his wife Lois of Cheswick, PA., Steven Soff and his wife Georgia of McMurray, PA, Christopher Soff and his wife Lori of Meadville and Thomas Ritchey IV and his wife Linda of Cranberry Township, PA., eight grandchildren, Christina, Michael, Ava and Victoria Soff, Margaret (Soff) Love, Thomas Ritchey V, Charles Ritchey and Jacob Ritchey.

Agnes was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph and her sisters Fannie Hernandez, Mae Bradish, Lee Trotter and Mary Betz and a granddaughter, Sarah Soff. She is survived by a sister, Anne Diemer.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, April 15th from 4-7 pm at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 16th at 10:00 am with Rev. Alex Holt officiating. For those unable to attend, the service will be available for live-streaming by going to Agnes' Book of Memories online at www.warrenfh.com and clicking the webcasting link at the bottom of the page.

We do ask those in attendance to please follow CDC Guidelines.

Interment will be at the St. Brigid Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Unitarian Church, 346 Chestnut St., Meadville.
