Obituary for Carol Marie Shoemaker (Ongley)
MEADVILLE - Carol Marie Shoemaker, 72 of Meadville, passed away, Friday, February 8, 2019 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born on August 2, 1946 in Meadville, daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Aldrich Ongley.
Carol was in a local bowling league, she enjoyed painting and was an avid pet lover. More than anything, Carol enjoyed being a mother and was so proud of her children.
Survivors include her life partner, Caroline Lantz of Meadville; her children’s father, Dennis Shoemaker of Coconut Creek, FL; daughter, Elizabeth Shoemaker of Coconut Creek, FL; two sons, Paul Shoemaker and his wife Kristin of Boston, MA and Andrew Shoemaker of Wellesley, MA; four sisters, Suzanne Williams and her husband William of Meadville; Jude Kirby and her husband Roy of S.C.; Kathleen Bourgeois and her husband Donald of L.A.; and Christine Foster and her husband David of F.L.; also her cat Bobo and her dog Chica.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather Earl Jennings and her sister Janice Ongley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
A Celebration of Carol's Life will be held, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Pleasantview Alliance Church, 16233 State Rte 86, Saegertown, PA 16433.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Crawford County, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
