Obituary for Carolyn "Tutu" Blakeslee

Carolyn "Tutu" Blakeslee, 82, of Union City, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Erie. She was born on April 2, 1938 in Union City, a daughter of Charles C. Butler and Fern L. Benson Butler. She married Gerald "Bill" Blakeslee on August 18, 1956. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2007.

She was a 1955 graduate of Union City High School and she owned and operated Blakeslee Furniture and Flooring with her husband.

Tutu attended Corry Alliance Church and she enjoyed knitting, watching westerns, playing the piano, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Kristy Blakeslee of Union City; three sons, Kevin Blakeslee and his wife Roberta of Union City, Blain Blakeslee and his wife Tina of Union City, and Blair Blakeslee and his wife Karin of Edinboro; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Henry of Florida; and a brother, Harold Butler and his wife Elsa May of Union City.

In addition to her loving husband, Bill; she was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Richard Butler.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, services will be private for immediate family with a public Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.

Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Union City.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Tutu's memory to Edinboro Camp and Retreat Center, 12940 Fry Road, Edinboro, Pennsylvania 16412.
