Obituary for Charles E. Galbraith

Charles E. Galbraith, 78, of Meadville, passed away, Saturday, October 19, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 21, 1941 in Meadville a son of Leigh Robert Galbraith and Ella Irene Thibault Galbraith. He married Violet B. Peters Galbraith on June 17, 1961.

He attended Randolph East Mead Schools, Wayland Baptist Church, and was employed with Channellock for 36 years.

Charles enjoyed square dancing, hunting, fishing, woodworking, his sister Nita's cream puffs, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Violet of Meadville; he is survived by a son, Mike Galbraith and his companion Lavaughn Wallace of Black Ash; three daughters, Tina Murphy and her fiancee Kevin Fleek of Meadville, Regina Waid and her fiancee Matthew Patterson, and Deanna Wiltrout and her husband Ted of Conneaut Lake; eleven grandchildren, Ryan, Janae, Destany, Lacey, Paige, Justin, Bryant, Jacob, Hunter, Zoe, and Trenton; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Vanderhoff of Reading, PA and Ellen Thompson of Greenville, SC; two brothers, Max Galbraith and his wife Barb of Jamestown, PA and Gene Galbraith and his wife Deanna of Seattle, WA; a favorite niece, Kathy McCarl of Townville; and a special friend, Tom Casper of South Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bobby, Duane, and Raymond Galbraith; a two sisters, Roberta Hagerty and Maxine Leonhart.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday, October 22nd from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 23rd at 11:00am with Pastor Marshall Lillie, officiating.

Burial will follow in Ewing Cemetery, East Mead Township.
