Obituary for Charles Aaron McDaniel

SSGT Charles Aaron McDaniel, 50, of Sugarcreek passed away in his home on September 9, 2023.

Born on May 15, 1973 in Franklin, he was the son of Mary Kay (Johnson) McDaniel Brown of Sugarcreek and the late William L. McDaniel, Sr.

He was a 1991 graduate of Rocky Grove High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corp. and spent 20 years proudly serving 4 tours, retiring as a Staff Sargeant.

Charlie married the former Julie J. Williams, she survives.

He was well known as the Mayor of Sugarcreek and was the owner of McDaniels and Associates Tax Preparation and Consulting.

A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, camping, and riding 4-wheelers. He was a member of the Masonic Lake Lodge #434 in Sandy Lake and enjoyed being a Shriner. He was also a member of the Franklin VFW Jesse G. Greer Post 1835. Most of all, Charlie will be remembered for being a very loving father, grandfather, son, and brother.

Left to cherish his memory along with his mother and his wife are his children, Nicholas McDaniel and his wife, Alexis, of Tennessee and McKayla Love and her significant other, Tyler Charlton, of Missouri; his grandchildren, Brantley and Oakley Love, both of Missouri; and his brother, William L. McDaniel, Jr. of Naples, FL.

In addition to his father, William L. McDaniel, Sr. he was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie K. Sharrar.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with a celebration of Charlie's life immediately following at the Cooperstown Community Church of God, 1651 PA-427, Cooperstown, PA with Pastor Philip Williams, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.

Arrangements are under the care of the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA.
