Obituary for Darril Van Manross

Darril Van Manross, 61, of Union City, passed away, Sunday, January 22, 2023 unexpectedly at his residence. He was born on September 7, 1961 in Union City, a son of Archie Richard Manross and Janet Marie Van Tassel Veit. He married Kathleen A. Ester on January 18, 1980.

He was employed as an electrician with IBEW Local Union 56.

Darril always enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Any sport or activity they were involved with he could be seen proudly supporting them from the stands.

In addition to his loving wife and best friend, Kathy of 43 years; he is survived by his mother, Janet M. Veit of Griffin, Georgia; his only daughter, Dana J. Ward and her husband Timothy of Union City; his grandchildren who were the light of his world, Leah, Shelly, Sarah, Haily, and Van Ward; his first great-grandson to be born in the coming months; four sisters, Carla Seaquist and her husband Scott, Lisa Cook, Cory Brown, and Natalie Christoph and her husband Tom; two brothers, Robert Manross and his wife Tami and Carl Veit, Jr. and his wife Beth; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Darril was preceded in death by his father, Archie Richard Manross; his step-father, Carl Veit, Sr.; brothers, Brian and Bruce Manross; two sons, Archie and Darren Manross; a daughter, Roberta Manross; and his mother in law, Marjorie Ester.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, January 26th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 62 S. Main Street, Union City. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 4:00 pm with Pastor Jay Hines, officiating.

Private burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Union City.
