Obituary for Donna Mae Nichol (Jacklett)

Donna Mae Nichol, 82 of Saegertown passed away on January 20, 2023 surrounded by her family at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.

Born in Cochranton, PA on February 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Kinderatter) Jacklett. She was a graduate of Saegertown High School.

On July 15,1982, she married Donald L. Nichol and preceded her in death on October 14, 2015.

Donna was a faithful member of the Saegertown United Methodist Church where she was very active, especially with the meal preparations.

She loved to quilt in her spare time and she was an awesome cook. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Eat and Travel Club, the Saegertown American Legion Post 205, and enjoyed playing Pinochle with other members of the Friday Card Club.

Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family who were extremely important to her. She led her life with kindness and compassion and always had a smile on her face. Everyone loved her and she will surely be missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, John Shaffer, Jr and his wife, Anna, of Chicago, IL, Cherrel Butler and her husband, Michael, of Saegertown, Kristine Howles and her husband, Donald, of Guys Mills, Jeffrey Nichol of Saegertown, Scott Nichol and his wife, Stephanie, of Export, PA, Dyanne Kiter of Cochranton, Susan Gionti and her husband, Michael, of Meadville, and Peggy Hasko and her husband, Evan, of Meadville; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Arthur Jacklett and his wife, Marlene, of Meadville and Doris Briggs of Saegertown.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Louis Jacklett and Helen Bretschneider and her brother-in-law Granville "Barney" Briggs.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday, January 25th from 2pm - 6pm at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville with the funeral service immediately following the visitation on Wednesday at 6 pm with Pastor Jeffrey Little, Pastor of the Saegertown United Methodist Church, officiating.

Donna will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Venango Cemetery, Venango, PA.
