Obituary for Dorothy P. Mauk
Dorothy P. Damico Mauk, 86, of Meadville, passed away, Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born on August 21, 1933 in Meadville, a daughter of Joseph P. Damico and Bernice Kinney Damico. She married Robert B. Mauk in 1967 he preceded her in death on August 24, 2008.
She was a 1951 graduate of Meadville Area High School and was employed as a dental assistant for both Dr. Sturdivant in Meadville and Dr. Oscar Schmitt in Erie.
Dorothy was a member of Saint Brigid Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the church choir when she was younger.
She was a member of the Meadville Country Club and in 1999 she won the Memorial Tournament.
Dorothy enjoyed ceramics, cooking, baking cakes, and being a stay at home mom raising her daughter, Lisa.
In addition to her loving daughter, Lisa A. Mauk of Meadville; she is survived by four sisters, Madeline Gisewhite of Cortland, Ohio, Margaret "Peggy" Jindra of Meadville, Rosemarie Burchard and her husband James of Meadville, and Joyce Ann Moffit and her husband Pat of Meadville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; four sisters, Donna Hyde, Dolores Aubel, Josephine Karas, and Mary Grace Hubert; a brother, Edgar J. Damico; six brother in laws, Harold Hyde, Sam Aubel, Wes Karas, John Hulbert, Dwayne E. Jindra, and Earl C. Gisewhite.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 4th at 11:00am at Saint Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville, with Father Jeffrey Lucas, pastor, as celebrant.
