Obituary for Elsa J. Holbrook (Carpenter)
Elsa J. Holbrook, 84, of Meadville, passed away, Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born on March 1, 1935 in Guys Mills, a daughter of Louis Carpenter, Sr. and Ellen Proper Carpenter. She married Richard E. Holbrook on February 15, 1958.
She was a 1954 graduate of Guys Mills High School, a life member of Vernon Township Station #27, a social member of VFW Post 2006, Saegertown American Legion Post 205, and playing in several different bowling leagues over the years.
Elsa and her husband, Richard wintered in Florida over the past 30 plus years while there she always enjoyed playing a game of bingo.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard of Meadville; two sons, Timothy R. Holbrook and Patti of Meadville and Thomas L. Holbrook and his wife Deanna of Conneaut Lake; four grandchildren, Keith Holbrook of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Erica Shaulis and her husband Cody of Saegertown, Dalton L. Holbrook of Conneaut Lake, and Molly M. Smith and her husband Brent of Conneaut Lake; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Pierce of Meadville and Winifred Miller and her husband Richard of North Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Elsa was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Louis Carpenter, Jr.; and a brother in law, Norman Pierce.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Friday, September 6th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
Burial will be private will take place in Greendale Cemetery.
