Obituary for Gerald William Crowl

MEADVILLE - Gerald William Crowl, 87, of Meadville, PA passed away, Monday, December 31, 2018 at Wesbury United Methodist Community. He was born on December 7, 1931, in Wyalusing, PA, son of the late Albert J. and Blanche Bennett Crowl. He married Florence E. Johnson in Cochranton, PA on October 31, 1959, she survives.

Gerald proudly served in the United States Army as a Staff Sargent during the Korean War. He retired from the Ohio Rubber Company in Conneautville, PA where he worked for 45 years. Gerald enjoyed reading, playing cards, spending time with family and friends, was an avid spots fan, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates and bowling. He was a member of the Harmonsburg United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Florence Crowl, two sons, Michael L. Crowl and his wife Patricia of Summit, NJ; Ronald W. Crowl and his wife Tammy of Novelty, OH; daughter, Jackie M. Walker and her husband Glenn of Olympia, WA; six grandchildren, Brittany Walker; Steven Walker; Brooke Crowl; Bennett Crowl; Colton Crowl and Owen Crowl; two great grandchildren, Elle and Kai Polin and his brother Paul Crowl of Edinboro, PA.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his sisters Hazel Brown and Evelyn Crowl.

Friends and family are invited to call the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335 on Thursday, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.. Additional viewing will be held Friday at the Harmonsburg United Methodist Church 14182 1st St, Harmonsburg, PA 16422 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M..

Burial will be private at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harmonsburg United Methodist Church, 14182 1st St, Harmonsburg, PA 16422.
