Obituary for Lawrence R. Hopper Jr.
Lawrence R. Hopper, Jr., of Guys Mills, passed away, Friday, October 18, 2019 at his residence. He was born on September 22, 1939 in Pittsburgh a son of Lawrence R. Hopper, Sr. and Elizabeth Gangware Hopper. He married Dorothy R. Williams on May 29, 1959. She preceded him in death on November 12, 2002.
He was a graduate 1957 graduate of Mars High School and attended West Virginia University.
Lawrence was employed with Peoples Natural Gas in Gibsonia and retired after 47 years as a Pipeline Corrosion Expert.
He was a member of all the local fire stations and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Lawrence is survived by his son, Lawrence "Larry" R. Hopper III and his wife Penni and their granddaughter, Mariah Branch of Guys Mills; two daughters, Betty Szulkowski and her husband Mike of Butler and Doris Evanoff of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Lawrence R. Hopper IV, Scott Hopper, Samantha Mensinger, Gina Kennedy; Page Szulkowski, Morgan Szulkowski, Michael Szulkowski, Sean Neal, Kate Neal, Amy Simmons, and Emily Shaffer; numerous great grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Marie Carr of Gibsonia.
In addition to his wife; he was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be private and held at a later date.
