Obituary for Lesley Alliene Louise Bailes

Lesley Alliene Louise Johnson Bailes, 51, of Union City, passed away, Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 4, 1970 in Corry, Pennsylvania a daughter of David R. Johnson and Irene L. White Johnson. She married Mike Bailes on March 7, 1992.

She was a 1989 graduate of Corry High School and earned her associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Edinboro University.

Lesley was employed with the Greater Erie Community Action Committee for seventeen years and most recently she was employed with Parker Hannifan Corporation of Union City for nearly two years.

She was an active member of Parade Street United Methodist Church where she served a co-head of hospitality, the missions leader, co-council chair, and on the nomination committee. She was also active in the VFW John Krol Post 6773 Auxiliary, where she served as President and was also the secretary for TOPS weight loss group in Waterford.

Lesley enjoyed making crafts, reading, collecting snowmen, traveling, but most of all she loved time spent with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Bailes of Union City; two daughters, Amanda Johnson of Erie and Laura Bailes and her companion Zach of Union City; two sons, Andrew Johnson of Corry and Thomas Bailes, III of Corry; six grandchildren, Aleigha, Justin, Cameron, Leona, Zander, and Emelia; her parents, David and Irene Johnson of Corry; her in-laws, Leon and Wanda Willcox of Union City; and a brother, David Johnson II and his wife Jane of Corry.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ezekiel Johnson.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Monday, October 3rd from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Parade Street United Methodist Church, 7 Parade Street, Union City. An additional calling hour will be held on Tuesday, October 4th from 11:00am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Hae Son Lee, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lesley's memory to the Parade Street United Methodist Church, PO Box 30, Parade Street, Union City, Pennsylvania 16438.
