Obituary for Margrit H. Popowski
Margrit H. Popowski, 79, passed away, Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Marquette Hospice House. She was born on September 2, 1940 in Bremen, Germany a daughter of John Meyer and Bertha Poppe Meyer. She married William I. Popowski on August 30, 1980.
She was a graduate of Rhoades High School in Cleveland, Ohio and was employed with Metro General Hospital.
Margrit was a member of Saint Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church where she served on the funeral dinner committee, Red Hat Society, Club House Committee at Forest Hills, and was part of the Condo Chicks.
She enjoyed volunteering at the Grove Street Hospital Gift Shop, traveling, going on cruises (she was on 23 of them), gardening, and, yard work.
In addition to her loving husband, William "Bill" I. Popowski of Meadville; she is survived by a son, Frank J. Comodeca of Parma, Ohio; two grandsons, William Popowski and his wife Michelle of Sheffield Lake, Ohio and Matthew Graff and his wife Ashley on Lakewood, Ohio; many great grandchildren; a brother, Dieter Meyer of Florida and Kentucky; and many relatives in Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Thomas J. Comodeca.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, March 3rd from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Father Jeffrey Lucas, officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date in Saint Philip Cemetery, Linesville.
