Obituary for Martha Weber

Martha M. Weber, of Meadville, passed away, Thursday, July 16, 2020 after a brief illness. She celebrated her 96th birthday on June 26, 2020. She was born on June 26, 1924 at Meadville City Hospital. The daughter of Florence Caroline Johnston and Charles Phillips Heckman. She attended local schools and graduated from Meadville High School in 1942. She married Kenneth Edward Weber on June 28, 1947.

She worked as a switchboard operator at American Viscose and Westinghouse, and then she worked as a long distance operator at Bell Telephone Company(Verizon). She retired from there and was employed by Ryan's Answering Service for 2 years, before retiring completely to enjoy her life.

Her first love was her family, followed by her pets, her love of reading, and operating her player piano while singing along with the music rolls. She also loved to crochet and knit, making gorgeous afghans and scarves for family and friends. She also enjoyed walking her dogs in Greendale Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela of Meadville and Barb (Craig) Iellimo of Allison Park; two grandchildren, Lyndsey Iellimo and Nick (Kate) Ogello; four great grandchildren, Carter, Reese, Jayce, and Kendall; a brother, David (Jerry) Heckman of North Carolina and his three children, David, Tim, and Doug.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; her sons, Michael and Stephen; and a brother, Robert Heckman of Temple, Texas.

There will be no calling hours per her wishes.

Private burial will take place in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville.
