Obituary for Mary Louise Montgomery (Hargenrater)

Mary Louise Hargenrater Montgomery, 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at home with her family by her side.  She was born on April 7, 1923 in Oil City, PA, daughter of the late Herman and Ottilia Snyder Hargenrater.  She married the love of her life and best friend, Edward Montgomery on August 30, 1947, he preceded her in death on March 20, 2007.  

Mary was a member of Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters.  She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and made adventures out of evey situation life gave to her. She worked at Bell Telephone as a telephone operator until she retired in 1980.  Mary always made every holiday and birthday beyond special for her family.  Upon retirement, Mary and Edward built a house in North Port, Florida where they spent their winters.  Mary and Edward loved to dance and travel together.  She was a level headed, strong and independent woman.  

Survivors include her two daughters, Anne Brogley and her husband Alan of FL and Katherine Montgomery of Erie; and her grandson, Patrick Brogley of FL.  
In addition to her husband, Mary is preceded in death by her infant son and eight brothers and sisters.  

Friends and family are invited to call at Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am with Father Jeffrey Lucas, pastor, as celebrant. 

Burial will be private at Saint Agatha Cemetery.  

The Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Serivces, 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335 has been entrusted with the care of arrangments. 

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St, Meadville, PA 16335.  
The family would like to thank the home health care workers and the staff of the Hospice of Crawford County for their unending love for Mary.
