Obituary for Nancy L. Kleckner Walp Ewing

Nancy L. Kleckner Walp Ewing, 84, of Saegertown and formerly of Venango, PA, passed away, Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Crawford County Care Center with her beloved family by her side, singing her favorite hymns. She was born on June 12, 1934 in Erie, PA; daughter of the late Sidney and A. Virginia Shelhamer Kleckner Schwartz. She married Lee E. Walp in 1952 and he preceded her in passing in 1969, also William Ewing in 1980 and preceded her in passing in 1996.

Nancy was employed by the United States Postal Service and was the Post Master for eight years at Venango and nine years as Post Master relief and clerking also for Saegertown, Edinboro and Meadville. She and her first husband, Lee owned and operated a dairy farm in Venango Township. She drove bus for Harry Boyles and clerked at the Venango Red and White. Nancy was a member of Venango Methodist Church where she served as Administrative Council Secretary; President, Secretary or Treasurer of the United Methodist Women as well as other committees as needed. She was a dedicated servant to her Lord and would be pleased to be remembered as such, a true prayer warrior. Camp Venango for Jesus was very important to her.

Nancy was a woman of strong faith in the Lord who after the death of her husband at a young age raised her family as a single mother. She loved her family abundantly and she was loved immensely by her family and many friends.

She was a member of the former Venango Grange, former Lakeland Grange. For a time served as secretary of the Crawford County Pomona Grange; youth director for the Young Grangers for Crawford County and as a State Deputy of Pennsylvania State Grange for Crawford County. She was a member of the National Grange. Nancy was also a member of the National Association of Postmasters of America; National League of Postmasters and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She worked for the ASCS, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service and Camp Venango for Jesus was very important to her.

Survivors include her daughters, Rose Acker and her husband David of Saegertown and Sebring, FL; Darlene Senft and her husband Alan of Three Springs, PA; Bonnie Krider and her husband Earl of Meadville; and Denette Adams and her husband Ed of Saegertown; her son, Blaine Walp of Saegertown; nine grandchildren, Jessica Lewis and her husband Dave; Mark Acker and his wife Mandy; Cheryl Stewart and her husband Alex; Brett Senft and his wife Kara; Kelly Selvam; Janell Bagley and her husband Scott; Kendra Krider and her companion David Galentine; Thomas Schlosser and his wife Christin and Joshua Adams; two step Grandsons, David and Brian Ewing, 13 great grandchildren, Cali, Owen and Truett Lewis; Blair, Hadley. Emmett and Deacon Acker; Audrey and Claire Stewart; Tyce and Lenna Senft and Anjali and Aaralyn Selvam; one brother Donald Klecker and his wife Helen (Skip) of Findley Lake, NY also Sister-in-Law Faye Kleckner of Warren, PA; several nieces and nephews and extended family friends, neighbors and church family whom she cherished.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter, Marlene Rae Walp; a brother Norman Kleckner; sister Charlotte Rosen; stepdaughter, Carole Ewing, and stepson William Ewing, Jr.

Family and friends are welcome to call the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335, on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and all are invited to the Venango United Methodist Church, 21472 Church St, Venango, PA 16440, on Thursday at 6:00 P.M. for a Remembrance Celebration with Pastor Joe Samalenge officiating and Pastor David L. Ewing Co-officiating.

Burial will take place earlier at Venango Cemetery.
