Purl Thomas "Tom" Mailliard, 85, passed away, Saturday, October 8, 2022 at home. He was born May 6, 1937 in Guys Mills, a son of Gerald R. and Charlotte E. Bowles Mailliard. He married Charlotte M. Anderson on July 1, 1964, she survives.
During his time on earth, Tom was employed at the former Kendall Station on Randolph Street, Deblasio Construction of Ohio, I.A. Construction of Venango County, the former Keystone Construction of Meadville, and also worked a short time on the railroad in Meadville. He filled in the rest of work history as owner and operator of Mailliard Garage Undercoating for about 35 years near Cochranton, and working with the PA Fish Commission on Sugar Lake.
He was a life member of Venango County Coon and Fox Club, a longtime member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, he actively participated in Crawford County READ Program as a student then as a support group leader. He was a sportsman at heart, loving to hunt, being a member and working with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He also spent his time traveling with his wife.
Tom will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him for his generosity, sense of humor, and his ability to triumph over handicaps and adversity.
In addition to his loving wife, Charlotte, he is survived by a son, Robert A. Foulk of Cochranton; grandchildren, Kimberly Mae Foulk of Carlton, Rebecca C. Peterson of Franklin, and Blake Robert Foulk of Cochranton; great-grandchildren, Haylei, Kayden, Declan, Lillian, and Quinn; and nieces and nephews, Charlene (Tom), Adam, Melissa, William, Tyler, John, Shauna, Melissa, Jacob, Jayden, Evelyn, Michael, Donna, Laura, Kenneth, Brian (Katherine), Sherry, Jamie, Emily, and Tyler.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Andrew Mailliard and Donald Bowles.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday, October 12th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, 29034 St. Highway 27, Guys Mills. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Alice McClymonds, officiating.
Tom will be laid to rest in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Guys Mills.
