Obituary for Robert J. "Ding" Dimerling

Robert J. "Ding" Dimerling went to his eternal home on January 27, 2021 at Meadville Medical Center. He was born on July 19, 1933 in Freedom, Pennsylvania, a son of Harold Dimerling and Anna Barnick Dimerling.

He was a graduate of Clarion State Teacher's College now known as Clarion University. After his graduation he taught and coached football in Freedom. He and his wife, Ruth Servey Dimerling later moved to Meadville where they both taught for Crawford County Scool District, (he taught science at Meadville Junior High School for 32 years). Following his retirement he traveled around the United States with Ruth and enjoyed many years hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ding was of the Catholic faith and a long time member of Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth of 64 years; a daughter, Robin Sipos and her husband Paul of Blooming Valley; two sons, Scott Dimerling and his wife Teresa of McKinney, Texas and Jay Matthew Dimerling and his wife Peg of Mason, Ohio; grandchildren, Jesse Sipos, Jake Sipos and his partner Gina, Jeremy Sipos and his wife Lisa, Jordan Sipos and his wife Jodi, Jamie Rhodes and her husband Steve, Meggan Adams and her husband Tyler, Caleb Dimerling, Tori Dimerling, and Madison Dimerling; great grandchildren, Adele Pye, James Baker, Sydney Rhodes, Keaton Rhodes, Salem Lyons, Jude Sipos, and Arlo Sipos; brother and sister in laws, Pat Curdo, Richard Servey and Robert and Janice Servey; and many nieces and nephews.

Ding was preceded in death by a son, Thomas; his parents; three brothers, George, Harold Jr., and Richard; and a sister, Dorothy.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, February 4th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine Street, Meadville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am with Father Jeffrey Lucas, pastor, as celebrant. The Mass of Christian Burial will also be available via livestream on Robert's Book of Memories online at www.warrenfh.com by scrolling to the bottom of Robert's page and clicking the webcast link.

Burial will be private at Saint Agatha Cemetery.
