Obituary for Shirley Dolores Graham

Shirley D. Graham, 91, of Meadville, passed away, Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at the Marquette Hospice House. She was born in Meadville, on September 11, 1928, a daughter of the late Stanley and Gladys Haney. She married her soulmate, Paul Graham on August 2, 1947. Paul preceded her in death on June 28, 2018.

Shirley worked from a very young age, starting with baby sitting. She then worked at Talon, Inc., for a short time, when WWII was on. She then took a job with Murphy's 5 & 10 store on Chestnut Street. After that she proceeded to Cargo Cleaners and then the Little Home Bakery. Her next job was at the First National Bank where she met Paul and continued to work there for five years. From there, Shirley took a job with East End School as a Secretary for another five years. Her final job was at the Y.W.C.A. teaching yoga for five years also. Shirley was a member of Saint Brigid's Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela A. Jenkins and her husband Dr. James Jenkins of Jacksonville, FL; her son, Scott Graham and his wife Debra of Meadville; two grandchildren, Jennifer Graham and Adam Jenkins; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Donna G. Hawk of Silver Spring, MD; and her brother, Harold Haney of Meadville.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her grandson, Trevis Graham and her brothers Richard and William Haney.

Graveside services will be on Friday, July 3, 2020, at 10:00 am with Father Jeffrey Lucas, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
