Obituary for William Edward "Bill" Unger
William "Bill" Edward Unger, 78, of Meadville died on July 7, 2022.
Born in Meadville on July 21, 1943 he was the son of the late William Howard and Martha (Guenther) Unger.
He was a graduate of Meadville High School.
Bill proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War Era.
He married the love of his life, Carolyn M. Bengivenga on May 1, 1965. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2020.
He was the owner of the W.E. Unger and Associates for over 40 years and was a hard worker that basically lived at the shop.
Bill was a member of the Saegertown and Meadville American Legion, the Meadville Hunting and Fishing Club, Meadville Eagles, Meadville VFW and the Meadville Italian Civic Club where he loved to socialize with anyone.
His family was very important and he enjoyed spoiling them all.
Bill leaves behind his children, Tom Unger (Christina) of Ashburn, VA and Cindy Restauri (Andy) of Franklin; his grandchildren, Breanna Unger, Carley Stiger (Nick), Joshua Restauri, Benjamin Restauri, Olivia Unger, and Madeline Unger and his two favorite great-grandchildren, Bradlee and Samuel Steiger. He is further survived by his sister Mary Ann Wiley (Bill) of Meadville.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Unger and his brother John Howard Unger.
Friends are invited to the Saint Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water Street, Meadville, PA on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with the Memorial Mass to immediately follow the same day at 2:00 pm with Father Joseph Petrone officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local Volunteer Fire Department of one's choice.
