Ronald L.  Wineland
Ronald L. Wineland, 82, of Meadville, passed away, on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Crawford County Care Center. He was born on November 2, 1934 in Meadville, a son of Fred A. and Marie Young Wineland. He married Lois Hart on April 28, 1956, she survives.

As a teenager Ron became interested in electronics. His first job was at Ott’s Radio and TV where he was an installer and repairman. He graduated from West Technical High School in Cleveland.

After graduation he was employed by N.B.C. at K.Y.W. in Cleveland. He later was employed with the space program at Cape Canaveral, Florida. He returned to Meadville and continues working in the electronics field for Motorola becoming a zone manager. Leaving that position he was self-employed as a communications consultant until his retirement.

Ron has served as an appointed Supervisor in Vernon Township, on the Zoning and Hearing Board and the Sanitary Authority.

He is a member of Pine Lodge #498 F and AM and a lifetime member of Vernon Central Hose Co. and a member of Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer.

Ron was a director of Northwestern REC and served on the board for 11 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Ronda Miller Harrison.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Lois of 61 years; his son, Barton Wineland and his wife, Marlene; grandsons, Matthew Wineland and his wife Julie, Mitchell Wineland and J.R. Harrison; granddaughter, Jessie Miller and her significant other, Lewis Spetiz and Samantha Jones and her husband Jacob; one great-grandaughter, Caitlyn Steiner and two great-grandsons, Rustin Harrison and Jax Jones.

Services will be private.

Arrangements are in the care of Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
