Obituary for Pauline "Polly" Smrcka

Pauline "Polly"  Smrcka
Pauline "Polly" Smrcka, 95, of Union City, passed away, Friday, September 29, 2017 at Corry Manor. She was born on October 5, 1921 in Meadow, Virginia a daughter of John Boleratz and Anna Streharsky Boleratz. She married Frank Smrcka he preceded her is death on August 5, 1977.

Pauline was a writer, she wrote two books and was the "Farm Grandma" under columns in the Erie Times News since 1977.

She is survived by two sons, Arnold Smrcka and his wife Janet of Union City and Mark Smrcka of Union City; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Charles Rogers of Hinesville, Georgia; and two sisters, Eva Kachuk of Almo, California and Helen Boleratz of Cleveland, Ohio

In addition to her husband, Frank; she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Rogers; two daughter in laws, Nancy Smrcka and Mable Waid; three sisters, Annie, Esther, and Sophia; and seven brothers, Paul, Joseph, Michael, John, Stephen, Andy, and Martin.

There will be no services at this time.

Burial will take place in Erie County Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions maybe made in Polly's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.

Polly's arrangements are in the care of Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 62 S. Main Street, Union City; formerly Robert M. Glenn Funeral Home.
