Obituary for Beatrice V. "Betty" Lindner

Beatrice V. "Betty"  Lindner
Beatrice V. "Betty" Lindner, 99, of Meadville, passed away, Monday, January 14, 2013 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. The last surviving sister in a family of eight siblings, she was born in Hartstown, Pennsylvania on November 26, 1913 to Walter D. Keene and Rena Hobart. She married Henry J. Lindner of June 22, 1952 and he preceded her in death on May 22, 1982.

Betty was a graduate of Linesville High School in the Class of 1931 and was the final member of her high school class to pass on. She was of the protestant faith. She was employed at Talon, Inc. as an inspector for 43 years. Betty enjoyed reading, traveling, bird watching, and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

She is survived by three great-nieces, Lisa Bradley-Schoeck of Erie, Pennsylvania, Wendy McLaren of Crimora, Virginia, and Anita Stefanelli of Erie, Pennsylvania; a great-nephew, Timothy Johnston of York, Pennsylvania; a stepson, Henry J. Lindner of Pitman, New Jersey; a step grandson, James Lindner of Gainesville, Florida; as well as many great great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Winona Hamm, Charlotte Bradley, Gladys Johnston, and Virginia Gould; a brother, Earl Keene; two infant siblings, Evelyn and Alvin; and two nephews, Richard K. Johnston of York, Pennsylvania and Alvin J. Bradley of Meadville, Pennsylvania.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, January 17th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral and committal service will follow at 2:00pm with Reverend Joe Kaufer, officiating.

Entombment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township.
