CONNEAUT LAKE - Mary L. Hoover Bras, 84, passed away, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at her home. She was born in Meadville, PA on May 31, 1934, daughter of the late Daniel and Katherine Peterson Hoover. She married George Bras in 1954, he preceded her in passing on June 16, 2000.

Mary retired from a nursing position at Allegheny College Health Center. She was an organizer of her class reunions and was always sure to keep in touch with nurses she had trained with. Mary was a member of the Eat and Travel Club and enjoyed bowling and dancing at the Elks Club with George when they were younger. Most of all Mary lived for her family.

Survivors include her son, Daniel Bras and his wife Sylvia of S.C.; two daughters, Katherine Chitester and her husband Elza Chitester, III of Linesville; and Linda Barnes and her husband Thomas of Meadville; seven grandchildren, Wayne Chitester, IV; Amber Sacco; Evan Bras; Zachary Barnes, Matthew Bras; Elizabeth Chitester; and Gregory Bras; eight great grandchildren, her brother Daniel Hoover and his wife Norma of A.Z. and a dear cousin, Grace Dorman.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sister Joyce Hasson.

Friends and family are invited to call the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Nate Alsdorf officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
