My Dad Loved to Drive.

One of the memories of my father was when my son qualified to wrestle in Fargo, North Dakota.  My wife and I where dreading the drive, but would never have missed the opportunity to watch our son wrestle there.   I approached my father about helping me drive there, which would make the trip much more enjoyable, and that I would pay for everything. I just needed someone to help me drive.  My father agreed to help us drive there. My dad loved to drive. His last career in life was driving truck, and in my words he loved pounding down the road. Well, on with the story. I started out driving and drove for awhile. I don't remember just how long I drove, when I turned it over to my dad.  He did what he did best in life. He started pounding down the road, and he just kept pounding down the road and pounding down the road, until we were there.  I was like, really, how can he just keep driving like that and just keep going. Well, we were there and enjoyed the event.   We started home with our son with us on the way home. He had gone there with the team, but was riding home with us. We were driving in dad's explorer and our son had just gotten his driver's license and my dad let him drive for awhile.  My dad once again took over and we started pounding down the road. We stopped at the Mall Of America. My dad and mom had been there in their travels while he was driving truck, and he wanted us to see it. It is quite a site to see.  On the road again, I asked dad if he wanted me to drive for awhile, but he said he was ready to drive again, and once again we were pounding down the road until we were home.  My Dad loved to drive.  He loved his job driving truck.  He will be remembered for all the great things he did for me.

His Loving Son,

Randy
